Example: Batch printing barcodes to a 6873 label sheet

Example: Batch printing barcodes to a 6873 label sheet (2 columns, 4 rows)

Step 1: In the program's 'Step 3', set the paper size: Width: 21.59 cm, Height: 27.94 cm. Set this according to your actual paper size. Windows systems have a series of predefined paper sizes that you can choose directly.

Step 2: In the program's 'Step 2', set the barcode size to Width: 8.31 cm, Height: 3.87 cm. This is slightly smaller than the label paper size to allow for some margin on the labels. You can click the 'Calc Size' button to automatically calculate the optimal barcode size for the label paper (you may still need to adjust manually as needed). The barcode size is determined by these parameters: paper size; number of labels per page (number of rows and columns); top, bottom, left, and right margins of the paper; row spacing; column spacing.

Step 3: In the program's 'Step 3', set the page layout for printing the labels: In this matrix label sheet, we set each page to have 2 columns and 4 rows. If using roll label paper, and printing only one barcode per label, set both the number of rows and columns to 1.

Step 4: In the program's 'Step 3,' set the label margins, leaving some white space around the label edges. You can also adjust the row and column spacing to align the barcode printing position with the label. If the printed barcodes and labels are not aligned as intended, there could be several reasons, such as a paper misalignment. You can adjust the page margins slightly in the program to align the printing position with each label.

Tip: Setting both 'Page Left Margin' and 'Label Left Margin' will shift the barcodes to the right on the page. The difference is that 'Page Left Margin' only affects the leftmost column of barcodes, while 'Label Left Margin' affects all barcodes. The same applies to 'Top Margin.'

In this example, we use data imported from Excel to batch print labels. There are two ways to import data: 'Load data from Excel' and 'Copy data from Excel'. When importing a large Excel file, it may take several minutes, during which time the program's printing function will be disabled until all data is imported. The program also provides functions for further editing, sorting, and filtering the imported data; you can select only a portion of the data to print barcodes. Please refer to other articles for details.

This program predefines a series of commonly used templates, including common label sheets such as 5160, 5161, and 5162.

You can also customize your own templates. Clicking the 'Save' button in the upper right corner of the program, or the 'Template' menu, will save the program's current settings as a template file for direct use next time without having to manually set the parameters again. The standard and professional versions of the program use different template file formats, which are not interchangeable.

For label sheets without predefined templates, you can use the 'Setup Wizard' program to help you automatically calculate the parameters.

The following image shows how to select a predefined template. We will add more predefined templates in the next version of the program.

The image below shows how to automatically calculate the barcode size suitable for the label paper (you may need to manually adjust the size parameters based on the actual printing effect).

The above is a screenshot of the standard version of the barcode program. The operation steps for the professional version are similar, and it can print more complex barcode labels, such as those more suitable for printing QR code labels, as shown in the screenshot below.

The 'Label Width / Height' in Step 4 is automatically calculated based on the following parameters and does not require manual adjustment:

Paper size; number of labels per page (rows and columns); top and bottom margins and left and right margins of the paper; line spacing; column spacing.

This software suite also provides a 'Label Designer' program, which can be used to design and print more complex labels: each label can contain multiple barcodes, multiple lines of text, patterns, and lines. This is a program independent of the standard and professional versions mentioned above, and it can also import data from Excel and batch print barcode labels.

The image below shows how to set the size and position parameters of a barcode.
