Example: Batch printing barcodes to a 5169 label sheet

Example: Batch printing barcodes to a 5169 label sheet (2 columns, 7 rows)

Step 1: In the program's 'Step 3', set the paper size to: Width: 21.59 cm, Height: 27.94 cm --- This is standard letter paper size. If you are using A4 or other paper, please set it according to its actual size.

Step 2: In the program's 'Step 2', set the barcode size to: Width: 8.95 cm, Height: 3.01 cm. This is slightly smaller than the label paper size to allow for some margin on the labels. The barcode size is determined by these parameters: paper size; number of labels per page (number of rows and columns); top, bottom, left, and right margins of the paper; row spacing; column spacing. You can also click the 'Calc Size' button to automatically calculate the best barcode size for the label paper.

Step 3: In the program's 'Step 3', set the page layout for printing the labels: In this matrix label sheet, we set each page to 2 columns and 7 rows.

Step 4: In the program's 'Step 3' settings, set the label margins, leaving some white space around the label edges. If the printed barcodes and labels are not aligned as intended, there could be several reasons, such as incorrect paper placement or printer inconsistencies. You can adjust the page margins slightly in the program to align each label.

Tip: Setting both 'Page Left Margin' and 'Label Left Margin' will shift the barcodes to the right on the page. The difference is that 'Page Left Margin' only affects the leftmost column of barcodes, while 'Label Left Margin' affects all barcodes. The same applies to 'Top Margin.'

Setting paper size details. You can use either the predefined paper sizes in Windows or a custom paper size.

Setting page and label margin details. These instructions can be viewed at any time by clicking the Help button on the program window.

In this example, we use data imported from Excel to batch print labels. There are two ways to import data: 'Load data from Excel' and 'Copy data from Excel.' Importing a large Excel file may take a long time. During this time, the program's printing function will be disabled until all data is imported. Please refer to other articles for details.

Copy data from Excel

This program predefines a series of commonly used templates, including common label sheets such as 5160, 5161, and 5162.

You can also customize your own templates. Click the 'Save' button in the upper right corner of the program, or the 'Template' menu, to save the program's current settings as a template file for direct use next time without having to manually set the parameters again. The standard and professional versions of the program use different template file formats, and they are not interchangeable.

For label sheets without predefined templates, you can use the 'Setup Wizard' program to help set the parameters.

The following image shows how to select a predefined template.

The following image shows how to automatically calculate the barcode size best suited for the label sheet.

The above are screenshots of the standard version of the barcode program. The operation steps for the professional version are similar, as shown in the screenshot below.

The 'Label Width / Height' in Step 4 is automatically calculated based on the following parameters and does not require manual adjustment:

Paper size; number of labels per page (rows and columns); top and bottom margins and left and right margins of the paper; line spacing and column spacing.
